Professor Debbie Baldrey

Debbie is a Doctor of Engineering and Honorary Prof at Swansea University. She has over 20 years of experience in the Steel industry, holding various senior leadership roles in technical, manufacturing, and strategic transformation. She became Director of Steel and Metals Institute 2020, managing the delivery of multi-million-pound research grants and working with key stakeholders to create research opportunities and effective partnerships. Debbie also leads the £20m Swansea Bay City Deal project for the development of the South Wales Industrial Transition from Carbon Hub (SWITCH) facility.
