Dr Luis Escott

Research Assistant

Luis is a Doctor of Engineering and has a BEng in Materials Engineering with a strong metallurgy background and specialises in material characterisation and mechanical testing.

He’s an operator within SaMI’s Pilot lab, and is competent in operating equipment within our SINTEC and mechanical testing lab. He recently seconded as a research assistant for the Innovative Steel Processing Accelerating the Circular Economy (i-Space) project, which focusses on decarbonisation in the steel industry through scrap utilisation. He is developing expertise and capability at SaMI to support circular economy activities, with an initial focus on characterisation and analysis of scrap.
